Five centures ago, a little known expedition traveled to the northern-most region of the North Pole in search of riches. The expedition was called Wild Goose because no one believed they would ever find anything in a land so obscure that some people even doubted its existence. Through high winds and over solid icepacks they traveled. A mysterious faint blue glow beckoned them deeper into the icy coldness. Days later they arrived at the spot. It looked like it was coming from an ice cave. The glow suddenly grew stronger and the men hurriedly plunged their picks into the ice and dug for four days and nights Finally, there it was. Deep within the icy earth, a perfectly round crystal ball was nestled. First, they heard a strange humming sound, then a great vibration rocked the ice. The crystal ball then rolled ever so slowly out of its nest, finally coming to rest at the feet of the leader of the expedition. The men were terribly frightened and one of them blurted out: "Will we ever see home again?" The crystal ball's glow grew brighter and the men peered deeply into its face. Suddenly, before their very eyes, they got their answer. For 500 years this crystal ball remained hidden from thieves and others who would misuse its magical powers. But now, with promises that it shall only be used to guide the gentle souls who visit CyberSoup, the crystal ball is back.
